The Goldrush of Gythio Synopsis - Short Film
The Goldrush of Gythio – Short Film
Synopsis:
The artist’s 94-year-old granddad thinks he knows the location of a buried treasure. It came to him in a mystic dream that he shared with his wife, who has now passed away. After a couple of failed attempts, thanks to a cheap metal detector he bought in Canada and managed to weasel through Greek customs, a paranoid fear of getting caught put a hold on his ambitions. Now, years later and back in his homeland, I decide to visit him in the small town of Gythio and help him search for the mysterious thing that lies hidden somewhere in the hills of the Peloponnese. I go on to discover things I never knew about my family and the place that influenced them before they embarked on another gold rush in the New World.
